Challenge

Pack a full processing system on a small footprint while keeping the business operating.

Project included acting as Owner’s Representative and overseeing the building / installation of:

• New 5,000 HP scrap metal shredder
• Advanced non-ferrous metals sorting plant
• New retail buying facility, scales, and 12,000 square foot administrative offices
  Storm water collection and recycling system
• Complete utility, roadway and port improvements

Results

• Creation of a long life cycle platform to extract metals at higher values than the prior collect and transfer business model
• Maximizing use of space to take advantage of valuable port property
• Concentrating processing to manage large volumes efficiently on one parcel
